Text:
Section 1.2, page 19. problem B34 should list  3 1/2 next to 3(1/2), not 3(1/2) twice.
Section 1.5, page 44, Figure 7 is a tiny bit off. The diagonal line should go precisely through the origin.
Section 1.5, page 51, Example 7.  The second square root should have a negative sign in front of it.
Section 1.6, page 62, problem A7:  has a left parenthesis, but no right parenthesis. It was intended to say "5 - ln x2 = 0"  but did not come close!  The answer is the same either way:  Inverse-reverse.
Section 2.1, page 77, Figure for B26,28,30:  The label (-5, -5) in the second quadrant should be (-5, 5).
Section 2.1, page 91, last line of "Example 2, Again" should say "f-1(x) = 2(x - 3)" [with parentheses].
Section 2.3, page 95, Theorem 2-3-8, second line: "x = c  if and only if xn = c1/n " should be "xn = c if and only if x = c1/n " with a superscript n on the before the "iff" and not after.

page 96, two lines above Theorem 2-3-10:  (x-1)3  should be  (x-1)3
Section 3.2, page 125, Figure 2:  The x-interval should be [-.5, .5], not  [-5, 5]
page 128, Example 4, last offset line:  Has a tall right square braket which should be omitted.
page 131, in Theorem 3.2.7, line 2, the large parentheses on the right should have a negative sign in front of them.
                    page 131, Example 6, line 5:  x2 - 5x = 3  should be x2 + 5x = 3.
page 133, line 11 from the end  "solution as number" -> "solution as a number".
                    page 138, B2. "a < 0" instead of "a > 0"
page 138, B10:  It lacks the superscript 2 on the "x" term, so it is not a quadratic!  x  ->  x2
Section 3.5, page 163, line 3 of Example 8:  This is calculation problem -> This is a calculation problem
Section 3.6, page 176, line 4:  "Set that equal to 447 and solve" should have "477", not "447".
Section 4.1, page 201, A1:  x3, x4, and x3   should be     x3, x4 and x5
page 201, A7(A)  is fine, but the answer manual answers it as if it were something else. The answer to this one is "2x".
                    page 203, B40.  (1 - x2)/2 should be 1 - x2/2.    B41:  (x - x3/6) should be x - x3/6.

Section 4.2, page 204, Example 1, line 3 should be x = (c - b)/m (with the "x = " not above the division line.)
                    page 217, B2 (a)  x0 should be xn
Section 4.3, page 232, HW B19: The 7.2 should be 7/2.
HW B24 should all be on one line, so the (1 - x)-1/4  factor multiplies the factor with x5/3.

Section 4.4, page 238, Example 18: "A" and "B" are switched in the solution (but the answer is still right). It says "Let Pizza A" be a 10-inch pizza" when that should be "the smaller pizza" (B), and then A would be the 13-inch pizza.
Section 4.4, page 239, example 20, line 5, it says "2001" and should say "2007"
That is, "What would it be worth in 2001?"  should be ""What would it be worth in 2007?"
Section 4.4, page 243, last offset line:  "$50,000 +" should not be in the numerator, but in front.
Section 4.5, page 253. [Minor] The graph in Figure 4 is a little off. (0,-3) should be the y intercept. The figure has  (0,-2).
Section 4.6, page 267, Example 2, revisited:  x2 - 2x + 3 should be x2 - 2x < 3.
Example 3, line 2: "The is"     should be     "There is"
Section 4.6, page 275:  Theorem on Absolute Values, part B:  The |x| < c should be |x| > c. (As in Figure 14B).

Section 4.6, page 278, A4(E): "Eliminate a F common" has an intrusive "F" by accident. Cross it out.
Section 5.1, page 295, A15 says "log(50) = 1.669" and should say "log 50 = 1.699."
Section 5.1, page 295, HW B3 has 1/12 which should be t/12.
Section 5.2, page 303, Table 5-2-4:  in (5-1-1) on the left side, it says 10x+y and that should be ex+y
in (5-1-2C) on the right side  it has log where it should have ln, twice.

Section 5.2, page 307, one line below (5-2-8).  2-3 should be 2.3
Section 5.2, page 310, problem B18. The answer in brackets should be 3.8, not 3.4.
Section 5.2, page 310, B35 has "will" twice in the last sentence. Delete the second occurrence.
                    page 311, B51: "Example 15" should be "Example 16"
Section 5.3, page 313, second last line.  log(a) = 3.8.   (The period after the 8 and before the next a is missing)
page 316, second line:  5-3-1 should be 5-3-3

page 316, line 8:  Problem B18 should be Problem B22
Section 5.3, page 320, the first offset math has "t" four times where it should have "k".  The next line returns to using "k" as it should.
Section 6.2, page 345, in the box at the bottom, its first line: soh-cah-toh should be soh-coh-toa
Section 6.2, page 356, Example 18, line 3 at the end of the line it says 78.46o and should say -78.46o.
                    page 364, B4:  "x" should be "cos x"
Section 6.4, page 385, at the top the square root symbol should be extended to cover all of "9 - x2" (twice, line 1 and line 2).
Section 6.4, page 388, figure for B16.  The 43 degree angle should be off of a N-S line. The line has a slight tilt (in error) and is missing the "N" for north.
Section 7.1, page 402, B19 has the answer in the text [.93]. That is wrong. It is correct in the solution manual. In the text it should say [1.6].
Section 7.2, page 405.  Below definition 7-2-5 there are three lambdas (λ) that are gammas (γ) in Figure 4. Whichever letter you wish to use, they should be the same, say relabel the picture with λ.
                 page 419, B22:  replace 90 with  π/2
page 420, B35, part D:  in terms of csc θ alone  [csc instead of sec]
Section 7.3, pages 428-9:  page 428, last line, the term with (sin α)(cos β) should be (sin α)(sin β). This mistake is repeated three more times on page 429:  in the first line and the last two offset lines of that page.
Section 7.3, page 430.  For questions B2 and B3 it should say "In the figure on the next page". Instead it says "In the figure next page."
Section 7.3, page 432, B54, part B:  "and use the using"  should be "and using"
                                    B55, part A:  7-1-3C should be 7-3-1C
page 433, B73:  "angle opposite"  should be "angle θ opposite"
Section 7.4, page 442, (7-4-5):  "for any B and C" should be "for any B and p"
page 442, Example 15, line 2:  "we need of wave" should be "we need a wave"
                    page 444, B16:  7-3-B69 should be 7-3B65

Solution manual to 4th edition:
Section 3.2, A23, manual page 17:  the partial answer in the text is right, but the solution in the manual should be -0.54 and 5.5.
Section 3.2, B41, manual page 18:  "Example 8" should be "Example 11"
Section 3.4, B25, manual page 21:  last factor should be (x2 + 4), not (x2 - 4)
Section 3.5, B19, manual page 23:  Change all three appearances of 5 to 52
Section 4.2, A55, manual page 32, "Use 4.4.10" should be "4.4.11."
Section 6.2, B69, manual page 45:  The manual uses sin, but you could use tan, which might be better, depending upon where you measure the 24 inches. They yield very similar answers.
Section 6.2, B101B, manual page 46. It says "sin-1 is one to one ...." and should say "sin is one to one...." The domain for sin is the range of sin-1.
Section 6.4, B9, manual page 48:  [The answer is right but the expression for cos(BAC) should be cos(BAC) = (182 - 202 - 2.62)/(-2(20)2.6) ]
Section 6.4, B27, manual page 50:  the angle labeled 17 should be labeled 20
Section 7.1, B5, manual page 51:  "Figure 9" should be "Figure 10"
Section 7.2, B23, manual page 23:  change the final step from "-tan θ" to "-1/tan θ".
Section 7.3, B65, manual page 57:  change 7.2.17 to 7.3.3A
Section 7.3, B67, manual page 57: [The work and steps are right. Delete the reference to B21.]
Section 7.4, B15, manual page 59:  change "65" to "66".
Section 7.4, B25, manual page 59:  [The answer is right, but the third last line has "70 + a" which should be "50 + a" and "16" which should be "70"

Other solutions manual typos:
Section 1.3, A22C.  Should be x ≥ 9.  [The given answer would be correct for x2 in the place of x.]
Section 2.3, B11. It should have a "10" where is has an "e" [twice].
Section 4.1, A7(A) has the wrong answer. It should be 2x. [They forgot the parentheses to group the top and the bottom.]
Section 5.3.  The solution-manual answer labeled "B15" is to the text's B19 and B15 is not answered. Similarly, "B17" answers B21 and "B19" answers B23 in the text.
Section 6.3, B15.  The answer is right, but the "114.149" is a typo for "104.149."  C = 104 is correct.
Section 7.1. The solution manual answer for 7.1, B5, on page 51, refers you to Figure 9. It should, of course, be Figure 10.
Section 7.3, page 57: The given solution to "B59" does not answer the question. It is, by accident, really a repeat the proof on pages 428-9. So, B59 is not answered.
