A Chinese High School day:

Monday through Thursday
Wake up at 6
Study Hall 7:00-7:35
Classes 7:45-11:55, with 10-minute breaks between classes and a 5-minute break morning and afternoon for eye exercises
Lunch
Classes 1:10-4:35,
Dinner
Classes resume in the evening: 6:10-9:20 pm.
Friday begins the same but classes in the afternoon are 12:30-3:00 pm for a shorter day.
Sunday has night class from 6:10 to 9:20.

Many students study IELTs/TOEFL/SAT prep on the weekends and Friday night.
(They regard tests that can determine what college they get into as overwhelmingly important--much more so than we do.)
Classes require tons of homework (some of which can be done in class).
[Because the teachers have so much grading to do, most answers are marked right or wrong, with no partial credit. Do a long problem almost right and make a mistake near the end -- it's a zero.]
